Guild Guidelines (Development and Discussion stage) Empty Guild Guidelines (Development and Discussion stage)

Post  The Monk Shaman Sat Dec 01, 2012 8:22 am

This document is a work in progress and should be treated as guidance at the current time. These rules are a mixture of [PAIN] Guild Wars 1 rules applicable to Guild Wars 2 and edited versions to reflect the changes made in terminology across the new game.

Code of Conduct:

1 Swearing shall not be tolerated over Guild Chat. All officers and the leader will be expected to monitor Guild Chat, and verbally disciple when required.
2 Seriously offending other Guild Members will not be tolerated. The Guild leader or officers will be expected to satisfactorily discipline the member in question, or kick, depending on severity of the violation.
3 Guild Chat should not be spammed with trade chat. If you want to sell anything, we will permit one message the gauge interest, however sustained pestering or spamming may lead to action being taken against the offending user.
4 Requesting help from other Guild Members is permitted, and often other members will be happy to lend a hand. Guild members shall not pester other members for help, or spam same over Guild Chat. If other members are busy, you should try again yourself, find a random Pick-up-Group, or try again later.
5 Guild members will ensure they have enough time to complete a mission, quest or dungeon if requesting help from other users for same.
6 If help is given to a member in need of it, it would be expected that the favour be returned in the future. This is to try to combat members continually requesting aid and never reciprocating.

Expectations of the Guild Officers and Guild Leader:

1 The Guild Officers shall cooperate with the Guild Leader when a complaint is raised and do their utmost to settle any situation.
2 The Guild Leader and Officers will be expected to discipline their members when requested, should a violation be committed, and kick in extreme circumstances. Failure to do so will cause us to question the officers’s motives and may jeopardise their position in the officer core.
3 The Guild Leader and Officers shall be expected to monitor Guild Chat in order to keep the peace, and have authority to tell off members.
4 The Guild Leader and Officers shall be expected to lead by example. Using poor language or sustaining and prolonging an argument out of spite or stubbornness sends the wrong message. Please always consider taking the "Moral High Ground" when dealing with disputes or trying to settle arguments.

Procedure for Reporting an Offense:

1 Screenshots should be provided whenever reporting a problem to the Guild Officers or the Leader. Please submit these via the forum personal messages and inform the officer in-game via whisper. Word of Mouth will not be accepted other than exceptional circumstances.
2 Should a problem escalate to involve many people the Guild Leader will call a meeting to discuss what course of action to take. In the event of this the Guild Leader will select the members he requires at the meeting.
3 When the offense committed is out with those laid out in this Policy document the Guild Leader will consider each case individually, and make judgments to the best of his/her ability, in order to decide a course of action to be taken. In the event that the Guild Leader is away, his/her officers have authority to make judgments on his behalf.

Generally:

1 The Guild Leader shall decide on any “exceptional circumstances” described in this policy document.
2 Should the Guild Leader be unable to be contacted within a reasonable timeframe whereby there may be imminent impending doom, Officers are given authority to deal with problems on the Leader’s behalf.
3 The Leader and Officers in the Guild retain the right to send off screenshots and complaints relating to Guild Members in the event of extremely offensive behaviour to NCSoft Support in order to try to achieve a more lasting level of discipline.
4 The Guild Leader reserves the right to change the policy document at any time and in exceptional circumstances may allow the changes to occur retrospectively.
5 The Guild Leader reserves the right to interpret the clauses within this policy to cover new issues when a new issue comes to light.

To raise a concern, or to submit screenshots of violations, please contact Zed or the Guild Officers via the forum and whisper them in-game to bring your message to their attention.

Guild Guidelines (Development and Discussion stage) Empty guild rules

Post  Zed Wed Dec 05, 2012 5:20 am

All in all, i agree with said rules, and i hope, in the future we do not have to use them, but i feel that in order for the guild to grow, these rules have been put in place.

We have found that in the years of running a guild in guild wars 1, the rules in practice there are very imporant, and i feel that we should use them in guild wars 2.

regards
